ADAC Unveils First Airport Corporate Responsibility Report
(9 October 2011)

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) unveiled today its First Corporate Responsibility Report, highlighting milestone achievements including decrease in water and electricity consumption whilst increasing passenger and aircraft movements at Abu Dhabi international Airport.

It also shows a 12 percent increase in employee training and development programs for 2010 compared with 2009.

ADAC is the first airport operator in the region to develop this report using G3 guidelines together with the airport operator specific indicators, issued just recently by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), to transparently showcase achievements and targets for the past year.

The new report highlights ADAC’s ongoing commitment to a range of issues including the social and cultural aspects of its management, the environmental impacts, and its achievements to date and to set out the objectives for further improvement. Employees’ performance development and trainings, achieving high rankings in ASQ results to deliver quality service, and auditing the airport accessibility to passengers with special needs are few of the many initiatives recorded in the 2010 report.

As part of ADAC’s commitment to social responsibility, accountability, and transparency, the report also outlines ADAC’s governance and responsibility framework which includes ADAC’s culture and values, how the teams work with a wide range of key stakeholders, compliance to all relevant laws and regulations and risk management.

Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), commented: "The achievements in the Corporate Responsibility Report reflect ADAC’s commitment to sustainability as a fundamental criterion for development and growth across our portfolio of airports and our other activities. Developing this report this year and in future years will help us reflect on our performance, deliver on our commitments and aim for even more ambitious targets." The new report showcases ADAC’s management and environmental performances through various activities including the development of comprehensive training programs, to the adoption of the Urban Planning Council (UPC) Estidama guidelines for sustainable design and construction practice in the development and re-modeling of its airports’ facilities.
